Absence

If your child is going to be absent from school for any unavoidable reason, please contact the School by 9.15am on the first morning of absence. If you cannot telephone between School opening and 9.15am, a message can be left at any time on the School’s answerphone. Parents should advise the expected date of return.

We actively discourage parents from taking children out of School during term time since this can cause considerable disruption to their education. Occasionally, leave of absence for a special family holiday outside normal School holidays is requested, but regulations permit the granting of more than two weeks leave in term time in exceptional cases only and parents cannot assume it will be granted automatically. At all times, permission should be sought from the Headteacher and an Application for Leave of Absence Form, available from the Office, should be completed and returned at least two weeks in advance. The conditions under which term time absences may be granted are contained in The Statutory Framework and the Department for Education and Employment (DfEE) Guidance, and further details can be found within the School’s Attendance Policy.

Uniform

We think it is very important for our children to look smart and neat for school.  This helps to encourage a positive attitude to school and helps the children to feel part of the school community.  Uniform can be purchased from Brigade Clothing Limited at http://www.brigade.uk.com/content.php?page=select_school&for=parents

Search for Sutton CEVC Primary School and our products will appear for you to select and order.  The following link www.brigadeparents.info will enable you to register with Brigade Clothing Limited immediately ensuring you do not miss out on important notifications and offers.

The Friends of Sutton School provide a service of second hand school uniform and a small stock of school uniform is kept in the School Office for purchase.

A track-suit for winter occasions may be advisable.

Please remember to label/name all clothes with your child’s name.

Jewellery and Personal Property

Jewellery may not be worn in school. The only exceptions are watches, studs for pierced ears, and cultural or religious adornments, which must be removed during lessons involving physical exercise (including swimming). If such items cannot be removed the individual is not prepared in an acceptably safe way and cannot continue as is, so must take part in modified activity. The school will not accept responsibility for removing or storing studs. Long hair should be tied back for PE and DT activities.

We would request your co-operation in supporting the school in not allowing your child to wear nail varnish, make up or fake tattoos.

Please do not allow your child to bring valuable items or large amounts of money to school.  The school has no insurance for damage or loss.

School Dinners

The school has now moved across to TnS Catering. School dinners currently cost £2.40 per child per day and is only payable online through My Child at School.  If you require a login, or are experiencing any issues logging in, please do contact the office.

The children make their choice at the start of the day so that they definitely know what they will be having. If you would like to pay by cheque, please make cheques payable to CCC Sutton CE (VC) Primary School. The same would need to apply for any school trips being paid for. Below is a link to the TnS website and there is a copy of the menu at the bottom of this text.
