Citrine Class

Homework is set termly.  The homework is a grid, and the children choose an option to complete each half term. These can be brought it at any time as long as it is before the half term break or holidays.

Each week the children will get a set of 10 spellings to learn. These are given out on a Monday and tested the following Monday. In the front of each child’s homework book is a list of ways to learn spellings. I do not mind how your child learns their spellings and if this is recorded in their homework books, provided they are learning them.

Each child also has a log in for Times Tables Rockstars which is useful to practice their times tables. If you need the log in details still please let me know.

I would like this process to be as simple as possible so if your child is struggling with the homework it is important that I know and can then do something about it.

I would like the children to read every day. Sometimes the children get time in class to read first thing in the morning or just after lunch but this isn't always the case.  If you could encourage your child to spend some time reading at home, it will soon have an impact on their writing.  Your child does not have to read a school reading book, but can choose any age appropriate reading material. If you would like any advice about this, please see me.

Indoor – Tuesday

Outdoor – Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. It will only be one of these days but they rotate.

PE Kits

Please ensure that your child has a full change of PE kit in school consisting of a top, trousers (for warmth in outdoor PE), a pair of shorts (for freedom of movement in indoor PE) and a change of footwear (trainers), including fresh socks in case outdoor PE is wet. All clothes need to be named.
