Welcome to Sutton CE (VC) Primary School!

I hope you will find this website an informative place to find out about our school and its community.

If you are a prospective parent, please do contact the school to arrange a visit and to meet me to discuss your child and the education we provide at Sutton CE (VC) Primary School.

I look forward to meeting with you soon,
Emily Gore-Rowe

When SIAMS visited us in October 2019, they reported that:
"Pupils are treated with dignity and respect no matter their needs. Difference and diversity are celebrated; everyone receives a warm welcome and, as a result, pupils are growing in confidence as unique in the eyes of God."

Message from The Governors

Dear Parents and Carers

We are honoured to be the Co-chairs for Sutton in the Isle Primary School and look forward to meeting many of you at school events.  Both of us are eager to enable the children at this school to make the best progress appropriate for each individual while acknowledging that everyone has different gifts and interests. Ben has children in the school, while Hilary is an ex-teacher, so together we are keen that adults and children alike should thrive in this environment.

We support Mrs Gore-Rowe and the staff in all that they do to move the children on to greater heights academically and in developing those areas that do not contribute directly towards the data but do enrich the children’s lives and personal development. We encourage all parents to show their positive appreciation verbally and by supporting the efforts of FOSS who work so hard to benefit all the children in Sutton School.

If you wish to contact us directly contact details are Chair@suttonschool.cambs.sch.uk

Best wishes from

Hilary Sanderson and Ben Willan

Co Chairs of the Governing Body

Message from our previous Chair

I am excited and delighted to be Chair of the Governing Body at Sutton Primary School. I know well, from my own children, how the school provides a stimulating and supportive environment where all the pupils can learn and develop their skills and confidence.

The Governors play an important part in supporting the Headteacher and all the staff in this endeavour. In particular we help to set targets for academic achievement, to appoint new members of staff and to ensure the school is a safe and welcoming space for everyone. To do this we meet as a full Governing Body at least once per term and we also work in three smaller committees: Teaching and Learning, Finance and Personnel and Health and Safety. Although our committee meetings take place outside of school time, we also visit during the working day so that we can understand well how the school works. As the Chair of Governors I also meet with Mrs Gore-Rowe on a regular basis.

If anyone wishes to contact me, for whatever reason, please do not hesitate to do so via the School Office.
