Welfare Team

In her role as SENDCo, and Mental Health Lead; Mrs Wallace co-ordinates the Welfare provision at the school.

If you have any concerns about the welfare or wellbeing of your child, please contact Mrs Wallace or one of our Welfare Team members who will be very happy to discuss your concerns and find ways that we can help.
Mrs Brown can usually be found in the Welfare Room and is available most days for drop in appointments.
ELSAs are emotional literacy support assistants who have had special training from educational psychologists to support the emotional development of children and young people in school. ELSAs have regular professional supervision from educational psychologists to help them in their work.

ELSAs help children and young people learn to understand their emotionsand respect the feelings of those around them. They provide the time and space for pupils to think about their personal circumstances and how they manage them.

Most ELSA programmes will last for 6 to 12 weeks, helping the pupil to learn some specific new skills or coping strategies. You will be informed if your child is on an ELSA programme and will be updated about their progress at parents evening.

Mrs Pendle is completing her training this year and we hope that many children will benefit from the groups she will be able to provide.
