What training have staff supporting pupils with SEND had or receiving?

We feel is it important to develop staff skills through Continual Professional Development (CPD).

Part of the SENCO’s role is to advise class teachers about planning for children with SEND.

The school identifies training for all staff to improve the teaching and learning of children including those with SEND. This includes whole school training on SEND issues such as Attachments training, ASD and Speech and language difficulties when appropriate.

Individual teachers and support staff attend training courses run by outside agencies that are relevant to the needs of specific children in their class.
