Year 1 Circus Skills

2nd March 2018

On Friday 2 March all the Yr 1 children attended a ‘Circus Skills Festival’ at Witchford Village College.

Sutton School were representing Spain; they took part in an opening ceremony by following a warm up routine to music all about flags.

Then the children were split into 10 groups and they rotated around the different circus skill activities.  Some of the circus skills that they learnt were: pedal goes, peacock feather balancing, plate spinning, juggling and ribbon dancing.

They all had a brilliant time and worked very well at sharing the resources with their friends.  Some of the children had to persevere to get to grips with some of the skills but other children discovered they were natural circus stars!
