National Curriculum Objectives

English is made up of both Reading and Writing. We as a school have divided what we believe to be the key objectives for each year group and organised them into relevant sections. For example, within writing, we have included separate sections on Vocabulary, Grammar and Punctuation given the recent emphasis upon them when the new curriculum was introduced.
 
If you have accessed the National Curriculum you will find that within Reading & Writing for Key Stage 2 the objectives are based within Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 whereas in Key Stage 1 they are separated into the relevant year groups. 
 
When creating our key objectives, we have prioritised some of the objectives within Key Stage 2 programme of study as we believed it was a crucial skill they needed to have to enable them to move during the next year.
