Absence
If your child is going to be absent from school for any unavoidable reason, please contact the School by 9.15am on the first morning of absence. If you cannot telephone between School opening and 9.15am, a message can be left at any time on the School’s answerphone. Parents should advise the expected date of return.
We actively discourage parents from taking children out of School during term time since this can cause considerable disruption to their education. Occasionally, leave of absence for a special family holiday outside normal School holidays is requested, but regulations permit the granting of more than two weeks leave in term time in exceptional cases only and parents cannot assume it will be granted automatically. At all times, permission should be sought from the Headteacher and an Application for Leave of Absence Form, available from the Office, should be completed and returned at least two weeks in advance. The conditions under which term time absences may be granted are contained in The Statutory Framework and the Department for Education and Employment (DfEE) Guidance, and further details can be found within the School’s Attendance Policy.

Jewellery and Personal Property
Jewellery may not be worn in school. The only exceptions are watches, studs for pierced ears, and cultural or religious adornments, which must be removed during lessons involving physical exercise (including swimming). If such items cannot be removed the individual is not prepared in an acceptably safe way and cannot continue as is, so must take part in modified activity. The school will not accept responsibility for removing or storing studs. Long hair should be tied back for PE and DT activities.
We would request your co-operation in supporting the school in not allowing your child to wear nail varnish, make up or fake tattoos.
Please do not allow your child to bring valuable items or large amounts of money to school. The school has no insurance for damage or loss.
School Dinners
The school has now moved across to in-house catering. School dinners currently cost £2.50 per child per day and is only payable online through Pupil Asset.
